Got my motor-cycle
Posted by Ashish on October 10th, 2005
The day I started working for the first time, more than 4 years back, I decided that I will not take a bus to work. Not that I considered taking a bus to work bad - I had already taken buses many times before that (particularly during my pre-engineering days), but I thought I got to change something now that I had a regular salary. Those were the days a couple of months before I joined Microsoft. So, I started with taking auto-rickshaws and immediately figured out that I will end up spending a substantial part of my salary in the transport, if I continue to do so. A week later - I had a new motor-cycle and I absolutely loved it. I have had quite a few interesting experiences on that bike - something I find too immature to talk about here. In fact, when I think about it, I have always been attached a lot to my first vehicles - be it the first cycle, first motor-cycle or my first car.
I have been thinking about starting to drive a motor-cycle again - I haven’t done that in a long long time and it’s a fact that I am always fascinated with bikes more than cars. So, when my parents and my brother were coming to Delhi for a few days, I used this time to get my bike from home to here. Thanks to Amit, my kid brother, and a medicine student - I have finally got my motor-cycle here and he has done a tremendous job with getting it back in shape.
I don’t have to take my car out for the small trips now and can experience the same fun of driving bikes. So cool!

Oh, mine is a simple one - Suzuki Fiero silver color. I absolutely loved that bike when I bought it - it’s a bit of balancing act now when I also have to carry my laptop.

What another Fiero fan..:-)
I too have a Fiero, greenish blue. Actually, I must have bought one of the first 100 Fiero, I should guess.

Just like MY sister did! Great. I like it. So cool to ride to your destination, instead of having to rely on a motorcycle mover to do it for you. (Pack your motor bike into a van and ’ship’ it to your new place.) Even good services that will do this cost money AND take away the experience of a long distance, for-a-purpose ride! Go girl!
