Mozilla, AJAX and Internet Explorer

Posted by Ashish on May 29th, 2005

Slashdot had this article - Mozilla extends Javascript spec and questions - whether this will speed up the AJAX applications and give Mozilla an edge over IE.

My opinion - it will not make a difference. We need to realize that any web-application should just not run on A browser. In the present scenario, at the minimum, it has to support both IE and Mozilla browsers. Browser compatibility has to be the taken into account. A feature that works in one browser but does not work in other will serve no purpose. Of course, it might force the other browser to support the new feature too - it’s only going to be useful for consumers like me.
