Indian Idol!

Posted by Ashish on February 25th, 2005

I like this show - I must say - the presentation is great and the quality of the participants is amazing. The other good thing is that shows like this gives chances to people based truly on the talent and not on the contacts.

Now, that the last competition is over - with the results being awaited - it is so difficult to really tell who the more deserving candidate is. It’s truly the success of any competition if there is no clear winner by the end of it. And Sony TV knows this - they have deliberately delayed the results and make more money in the advertisements till then. Nothing wrong about that - everybody has the right to make money - particulary when they have provided a good entertainment package to a large country like ours.

My personal choice - I really won’t comment - whosoever I have favored so far - has lost in the very next round :-) But onething is clear - whatever the result be, Bollywood has certainly got few more good talents.

I know who will win Abhijeet, even though both the guys are extremely good, and it’s a difficult choice. For Sony this has
been a money spinner. Do you know they get a cut out of the SMS and telephone revenue which the telco’s get.Add to that the
CD’s which are a sell out. Last I heard, the CDs are out of stock in mumbai.Phew..what craze!!

Yeah… I am keeping my fingers crossed - It doesn’t really matter now who the winner is. Last I heard was that these 2 guys did the opening song for the Filmfare award. Now, they are becoming proper Page 3 material.

Well Sony was telecasting the Filmfare awards so these guys had to be there. But I guess I will also miss Mini Mathur a lot. Man she is sooo hot,
and to think of it, I saw her in Green Park market a looong time ago, when I used to still roam around in half pants.
